Responsibilities: Assigned specific building HVAC/R responsibilities. Operates, maintains and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Monitors HVAC/R systems and ensures that routine preventative maintenance is performed according to established schedules. Checks, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes and other functional components of the system. Duties and task are frequently non-routine, resolves most questions and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher level.

Qualifications: Must have 2 to 4 years experience. Requires an individual with two years vocational/technical school education in Building Utilities Maintenance or other related field. Must have thorough knowledge of the following equipment and systems: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, hydronics, direct digital controls, exhaust and fume hoods, humidity control, fans, pumps, pneumatic controls, steam, thermostats, pressure regulators and computers. A basic knowledge of electronics as it pertains to building energy management systems. Must be able to read and interpret building mechanical blue prints. Commissioning experience is beneficial.

License or Certification: Refrigeration Reclamation License and Boiler's License

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $21.23 per hour.

Hours/Pay Period: 80

Schedule Details: Day shift, Monday - Friday.
