This is a technical position that requires knowledge and skill for scheduling services, completing machine repairs and diagnosing defects to heavy equipment. Mechanics are responsible for services from routine maintenance work to dismantling and reassembling entire engines while utilizing hoists and hand tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determine equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests and identify worn and damaged parts.
- Correct equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brakes and more
- They must work safely at all times by adhering to all applicable safety policies and complying with all company policies, procedures and standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 year technical degree or prior experience will be given priority
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Be proficient spoken and written English
- Be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Be able to safely wear a half face mask for up to 12 hours at a time
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- May work up to 12 hour shifts
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to communicate and coordinate with co-workers and supervisors
- Must have high safety standards for self and others
- Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends and holidays
- Must have the ability to stand for 6-12 hours on uneven sandy/rocky surfaces
- Must have the ability to lift 60 to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance
- Must have the ability to bend or stoop
- Must have the ability to climb on and off equipment and ladders
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must have the ability to work in damp, dimly lit and confined work areas
Shift Details
- Night Shift Differential of $2.00 /per hour
