Miner & Equipment Operator - Full-time

Requirements:

• B.S. degree in Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering is required.
• Excellent analytical, management, organization, and communication and problem solving skills. 
• Must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, work with minimum supervision, and have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs. 
• The Mine Engineer is expected to contribute to maximizing the safety, productivity, environmental compliance, and cost effectiveness of the company.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in coordinating mining, mechanical and other engineering projects to include in developing a scope of work, generating cost estimate and preparing a project plan.  Current projects are mine development at Wille; mine design, ventilation, reserve management and waste area management. 
• Assist in evaluating current systems and processes and implement optimizations to improve efficiencies.   Current items are; understanding mine yield of sand size, improve understanding of cap rock and above and below, 1-3 years out – improving hauling system to the plant.
• Project work including project development, budgeting, engineering, purchasing, construction, cost control, quality controls and implementation.
• Develop engineering projects utilizing new technology to constantly upgrade and improve safety efficiencies, cost control, quality controls and implementation.
• Develop engineering projects utilizing new technology to constantly upgrade and improve safety efficiencies, cost controls and protection of the environment.
• Promote and initiate positive employee relations designed to facilitate teamwork and job satisfaction through participation.
• Participate with operating and maintenance departments in problems solving efforts to improve safety, efficiencies, cost controls, and protection of the environment.
• Assist operating and maintenance departments in the implementation of new technology
• May be assigned to Long Range Planning, Short Range Planning, Surveying, or Technical Support.
• Help with MSHA interactions.
• Mainly working day shifts Monday – Friday but there will be some work that is needed on nights and weekends in that we work 24/365.
