The Senior Manager, Learning Design is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of creative and forward thinking learning solutions that effectively meet business needs. Solutions will utilize a variety of delivery methods for an impactful yet practical implementation. The Senior Manager, Learning Design works closely with stakeholders to understand the overall performance objectives and ROI, and works closely with Senior Instructional Designers to coach and establish processes for ensuring quality and practicality standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides learning design leadership and expertise across the learning team, and sets the direction for blended learning solutions
  • Engage with business stakeholders to build trusted relationship, understand business needs, and influence their perception of learning and impact on the bottom line. Partner with stakeholders in identifying learning solutions that are effective and practical in meeting their needs.
  • Establishes roles and responsibilities, and expectations for the learning team, stakeholders and SMEs in initiatives, and ensures continuous communication with stakeholders throughout the project timeline.
  • Forecasts effectively the resources and coordination needed for successful project completion, and helps the team plan accordingly. Responds quickly with resolution to obstacles and issues impacting delivery of effective solutions.
  • Leads quality reviews across the learning team, and establishes clear design processes and standards. Facilitates lessons learned discussions after completion of projects, coaches and helps the team in integrating changes as needed.
  • Ensures measurement of learning solution effectiveness, appropriate communication of results, and use of the information for continuous improvement of learning processes.
  • Facilitates partnership between Instructional Designers and other teams (e.g., media, talent, communications, technology) to ensure timely participation and coordinated efforts.
  • Actively develop the design skills of Instructional Designers across the learning team, and facilitates the collaboration and functioning of a high-performing team.
  • Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance discussions, and coaching and developing associates.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors in instructional design, training and development, educational technology or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in instructional design or related field; experience delivering blended solutions in a field environment preferred
  • 2-3 years experience coaching and managing others, and influencing across the team
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in delivering content through classroom or virtual methods
  • Experience demonstrating return-on-investment for learning solutions
  • Experience in change management initiatives
