About this job

The primary responsibility of the FSQR Specialist role is to ensure analytical activities in the Central Laboratory and help manage the quality systems at the Spiritwood Malt Plant Site, participating in implementing business improvements via coordination with key stakeholders and training of people and tracking progress on the rergional performance to reduce customer complaints and produce safe malt products.

Principal Accountabilities:

50%

* Responsible for accurate and timely completion of laboratory analysis for all of the Cargill malting plants across NA.

* Utilisation of Standard Laboratory Methods, or other regulation laboratory methods

* Oversee the preparation, production and distribution of all documentation related to analytical reporting (including customer samples etc.).

* Provide strong structured problem solving processes involving key stakeholders

* Participation in laboratory proficiency testing schemes for all the malt labs

* Ensure compliance of laboratories to Cargill EHS requirements

30%

* Co-own the implementation of Food & Feed Safety Management programs (including PRP and HACCP) in line with Cargill and certification (FSSC 22000, GMP) requirements.

* Participate in creating and maintaining a Food Safety culture by training, postings, site tours.

* Responsible for reporting and accountable for follow up of near misses through Product Safety Alerts including Root Cause Analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.

* Accountable for setting up and maintaining systems to improve plant hygiene, environmental program

and GMP

* Accountable for up-to-date customer FSQR related information available.

* Prepare and co-own internal and customer audits including preparation and follow up actions.

* Ensure to provide necessary inputs for adequate monthly reporting for the region and providing updates to the business

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor degree in Food Science or relevant discipline

* 3 years of experience in a laboratory role and / or experience in food safety, quality and environmental systems and quality systems in a manufacturing environment

* Strong ethics

* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

* Analytical and detailed

* Ability to quickly respond to and resolve issues

* Ability to deal with ambiguity and understand who to engage with to assist with problem solving

* Possess good disciplined thought and disciplined action

* Ability to connect with people at various levels of the organization

* Strong analyst with excellent coordination and time management skills

* High adaptability and capacity for change

Preferred Qualifications

* Auditor qualifications in food safety, quality and environmental systems

* HACCP certified
