3M is seeking a Manufacturing Laborer for the Industrial Mineral manufacturing site located in Corona, CA. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.
The 3M Corona Plant is located on a site that is rich in history for our local community. This location has been an active mine site for 100 years. The mission of 3M Corona is to be the world's leading supplier of roofing granules to the asphalt shingle manufacturers.
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Laborer will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Maintaining cleanliness of work areas through different means such as shoveling, sweeping, wheelbarrow usage and/or bobcat, front loader and fork truck operation. Housekeeping duties include sweeping and shoveling crushed rock
* Cleaning in, under and around factory equipment such as rotary kilns, mixers, and conveyor belts
* Temporary assignments to fill-in/relieve other positions in Coloring Department
* Checking in with supervision at start of shift to obtain specific duties for their shift
* Handling hazardous waste following appropriate plant procedures. Proper handling includes packaging, labeling, container inspection, and sealing
* Obtaining and maintaining a valid PIV (Power industrial Vehicle) license
This position will require:
* Weekend work
* Working overtime
* Working on holidays as needed
* Short notice call in
* Working extended hours
* Working any shift available, including, but not limited to, first, second, third or rotating
* Working in varying climate conditions
* Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. or more (both assisted and unassisted)
* Wearing protective equipment including, but not limited to a respirator, safety shoes, safety glasses and hard hat
Basic Qualifications:
* Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
* Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing, construction, mechanical and/or agriculture experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in a mining environment
* Experience operating a powered fork truck
* Able to understand and follow both oral and written instructions
* Self-motivated, team oriented, and excellent interpersonal skills
