JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Mandate: 

 

Under direction from the Asset Protection Manager or Assistant General Manager - Operations, the Asset Protection Investigator is responsible for monitoring shortage results, shortage control, price changes, return to vendor transactions, receipt reconciliation, paperwork error control, investigations and apprehensions regarding internal and external theft, and implementation of store safety programs at an individual Saks Fifth Avenue location. Additionally, the Asset Protection Investigator is responsible for training store associates on awareness and Asset protection policies and procedures.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Maintain the integrity of physical inventory by monitoring reports and audits on a daily and monthly basis.

• Organize and conduct annual store inventory

• Develop shortage strategies for merchandise groups, paperwork controls, and shortage awareness.

• Ensure Asset Protection policies and procedures are followed at all levels throughout the store.

• Work with any internal investigators to address internal and external theft.

• Communicate and administer reward programs, such as Quest Program.

• Communicate safety awareness and address potential hazards to protect internal and external customers.

• Utilize software proprietary to Saks Fifth Avenue for conducting internal and external investigations

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications: 

 

• Minimum 2 years Asset Protection experience, large volume retail environment preferred.

• Demonstrate self-starter and problem solver with excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to quickly learn Saks Fifth Avenue standards, procedures, and IT applications.

• Focused on attention to detail, taking initiative, and working in a positive environment.

• Ability to work well with others, as well as the ability to work independently to complete task.

• Bachelor's degree preferred: Wicklander-Zulawski certification is considered a plus.
