Job Summary: The Senior Director, AP Operations & Safety is responsible for leading the Corporate Asset & Profit Protection Operational and Administrative functions for Sears Holdings Corporation.. This position will assist the Corporate and Field teams in the development and management of the core profit improvement programs for all formats.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for Corporate AP functional areas including Administration, Operations, Communication, Training, and Awareness, Crisis and Emergency Management, Safety, Food Safety, Physical Security and Merchandise Protection, Inventory and related Reporting functions for Sears Holdings Corporation.
  • Works closely with CSO to manage overall BU productivity, project management, initiatives, and strategic vision for the organization. Develops methodologies to track, analyze, and invest in the most productive use allocated capital and expense dollars, maximizing return on invested dollars
  • Maintains and leverages relationships with key cross-functional business partners including Vertical Business Units, Legal, Human Resources, Store Operations, and other Corporate entities
  • Recruit, hire, train and retain top quality Asset & Profit Protection and Safety talent.
  • Develops programs, strategies and business plans to meet / exceed profit, shrink and safety goals.
  • Manages the relationships supporting the safety and protection of the Senior Leadership team including the Executive Protection fleet, Shareholders Meeting arrangements, and the relationship with the Chairman / CEO's security team.
  • Responsible to stay current with technological developments within the industry and assess applications for use in SHMC environments
  • Responsible for planning, design, development, organization, communication, and execution of all safety programs for SHC
  • Manages compliance with all safety and hazmat policies and regulations impacting SHC
  • Develops and implements safety audit programs
  • Actively involved in key business teams, provides safety expertise for SHC and is the ultimate decision maker of safety matters.
  • Collaborates with business leaders in all areas of the corporation to develop a safety mentality that extends from the senior executives to the hourly associates
  • Support achievement of annual Worker's Comp and General Liability expense goals.
  • Develop and improve key Asset & Profit Protection metrics.
  • Manages relationships with multiple vendors, including contract negotiations and implementation

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Level Degree
  • Over 10 Years Years of Related Experience:
  • Travel Requirements: 25%
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, development methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Experience in Project Management environments
  • Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications required. Microsoft Visual, FoxPro, SQL, Server and/or database development applications a plus
