Position Summary:
The Culinary Innovation Specialist will support the Culinary Innovation and Marketing team with product testing and development, ingredient procurement and prep, recipe testing and general kitchen assistance in support of business objectives.
The Culinary Innovation Specialist is expected to have a strong knowledge of the industry, to be familiar with the latest food trends, and to foster a curiosity for product development. This position will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Newton, MA.
Essential Functions:

  • Assists the Culinary Innovation and Marketing team in conducting exploratory testing existing, new and in-development products
  • Meticulously records testing results and shares results as needed with key stakeholders in a timely fashion
  • Preps ingredients and supplies needed for culinary projects
  • Assists with developing and testing recipes to highlight products for demonstrations and marketing materials
  • Meticulously records results of testing and copy writes recipes according to establish format
  • Assists in maintaining the Culinary Innovation and Marketing recipe database
  • Ensures the test kitchen is orderly, organized and clean for efficient use for recipe and product testing
  • Assists, attends and presents at internal and external events, as needed
  • Monitors and researches industry trends and innovations on an ongoing basis to continue to bring new ideas to the team
  • Performs other administrative tasks as needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly
Attributes and Skills:
  • Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner
  • Proven ability to collaborate and interact with others, plus the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships within all levels of the organization
  • Able to professionally execute projects with minimal supervision
  • Highly reliable, proactive self-starter; can be counted on to complete assignments on time
  • Ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
Requirements:
  • 2+ years related culinary experience required
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to manage cross-functionally and across an organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Education/Certifications/Affiliations:
  • Associates Degree in Culinary or Food Science or Nutrition; Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Marketing or Communications; or combination of education and experience
