Production Operator

Setup and safely run vacuum hot presses used to fabricate advanced material components. This includes:
a. Execute emergency safety procedures under the direction of a Level II / Level III operator
Assigning furnace run numbers
Furnace loading / unloading, including related tasks
Measuring temperature using various measurement equipment (optical pyrometer, infrared pyrometer, and thermocouples)
Pulling vacuum and backfilling furnaces with inert gases.
Reading, comprehending and following operating instructions (TPS and work packet information)
Interacting with and using furnace control panels to operate the furnace, including reading gauges and applying power to adjust temperatures
Operation of furnace support equipment including overhead cranes and forklifts
Unloading and reloading of the binder burnout ovens.
Able to drive and operate forklifts (ability to obtain forklift certification).
Apply grafoil to graphite blocks and assemble in the furnace to the defined height
Utilize basic math skills (add / subtract / multiply / divide) as part of daily operations
m. Reporting problems to shift supervisor / lead
Setup and safety run sand blast equipment to remove unwanted materials from hot pressed products. This includes:
Operation of the Viking sand blaster
Hand / pedestal grinding of materials to remove flashing and ensure proper part weights are achieved
Use measurement equipment (digital scale, calipers, inspection fixtures) to complete in-process inspections that determine part quality
Operate manual sand blaster to remove any additional unwanted materials.
