Job Description:

  • Lead recurring Capital project IPT meetings. Document minutes/actions and communicate accordingly.
  • Maintains capital budget tracking tools. Generates, maintains and executes expenditure spend plans.
  • Manage project schedules across multiple assets ensuring task start and finish dates are communicated and met as required to meet project milestones.
  • Create reports and presentations necessary to communicate project status to upper management.
  • Communicates critical constraints to upper management to ensure priorities have the appropriate level of visibility and resource allocation.
  • Identify and track risks and opportunities in a risk register to ensure potential problems are actively identified and risks are eliminated before being realized.
  • Expedites the implementation of recovery plans and the elimination of critical constraints.
  • Work with line management to ensure labor, equipment, tooling and facility resources are available to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Work with program schedulers to ensure capital project deliveries and need dates are accurately reflection in program schedule and meet program requirements.
  • Work with engineers and designers to ensure drawings are released on time and barriers are eliminated when they exist. Initiate and track the release of Engineering Changer Orders as required.
  • Work with engineers and buyers to ensure purchase reqs, purchase orders and supplier invoices support project plans and expenditure plans.
  • Work with buyers and suppliers to ensure that procurement terms and conditions minimize risk to the company and the project.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve schedule delays and quality issues. Request and coordinate for the engagement of technical skills as required for problem resolution.

Work Environment:

  • Both Goleta and Oxnard facilities
  • M-F, 40+ hrs/wk
  • Some travel required to vendor sites in Southern California

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Engineering preferred
  • 7+ years project management
  • Experience with procurement of capital equipment, managing project schedules, budget tracking, expediting vendors and engineers

Desired:

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • High proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project
  • Previous experience presenting and communicating with upper management and leadership

Additional information about the job:

  • Phase 1 - Management of equipment procurement for new site and meeting schedule deadlines
  • Phase 2 - Procurement is completed and installation of equipment meets deadlines with limited quality issues
  • Phase 3 - Facilitate move out from Goleta
