About this job
Aerotek is partnering with a large manufacturer in Central Illinois on hiring a full-time Controls Engineer. The Controls Engineer will be exposed to control systems and manufacturing applications in real time.
They will be responsible for:
1. Specifying performance criteria and installation requirements for process instrumentation.
2. Configuration and design of controls equipment including PLCs and HMIs, network switches, media converters, and data radios.
3. Inspecting, testing, and designing performance criteria, bill of material, methods of construction, and installation of control panels.
4. Writing detailed programming logic to meet the design intent of the manufacturing processes.
5. Troubleshooting instrumentation and control system performance issues.
6. Preparing operation and maintenance manuals for instrumentation and control systems.
7. Other duties as designated by operations leadership.
What they will need:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
2. Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or SCADA experience, Wonderware/Archestra preferred.
3. PLC and HMI programming experience required.
4. Skills troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs (Allen Bradley preferred).
5. RS View and RS Logix 5000.
6. Experience creating new systems and starting up new projects.
7. Written and verbal communication skills.
8. Exceptional client interaction skills.
9. Leadership, problem solving, and analysis skills.
