About this job
Operator is responsible for excavating ditches and structures, laying pipe and precast concrete structures, carrying materials in the loader bucket, and general excavation and back fill. The Operator will also assist with general labor duties as needed.
While not all inclusive, the following is a list of tasks to be performed and or coordinated:
- Have appropriate licenses and certifications to operate the equipment being used
- Prepare pre-trip vehicle inspection and complete prior to leaving the yard including checking all fluids, tires, lights and all signals as listed on pre-trip
- Fully understand the piece of Equipment
- Help to identify hazards on job site
- Participate in safe work, behavioral safety audits, and near hits
- Be aware of the dangers associated with hazardous atmospheres
- Gather appropriate job permits
- Perform tasks assigned by Crew Lead or Foreman
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Load and Unload material
- Digging and back filling various types of ditches and trenches
- Perform equipment audits
