CHEF / KITCHEN MANAGERNew, exciting concept, Mestiza Taqueria, is seeking a Chef / Kitchen Manager to manage Back of House operations. Mestiza Taqueria is a fun, fast casual environment, mixing influences of Asian and Mexican street food culture with the highest standards possible. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the success of all kitchen operations including quality of food, employee performance, and profitability. We are looking for the right mix of solid management skill, creative inspiration, and leadership ability.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 3 years in a kitchen supervisory role in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurantExperience with Latin, Filipino, and/or Southeast Asian Cuisine a HUGE plusStrong culinary skill and abilityEnergetic, outgoing and hospitable personalityCreative, effective problem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneouslyFamiliarity with Restaurant FinancialsBasic administrative skills (Microsoft Office)Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skillsSome Spanish speaking is a plusDUTIESEnsure that all food is prepared to Mestiza Taqueria's standardsEnforce Health Department regulations for food and storage safetyRecruit, hire, train, schedule and supervise all BOH employeesEnsure compliance with all Mestiza Taqueria policies and proceduresAssist kitchen employees to ensure preparation for serviceMaintain food and supply inventory through proper ordering proceduresOversee the day-to-day operations and the kitchen lineCreate daily specialsWork with our team to develop catering and special event menusMeet budgets for Food and Labor CostsPartner with FOH Manager and other team members to ensure customer satisfactionCOMPENSATIONCompetitive SalaryMedical, Vision and DentalPTO - Sick and Vacation pay
