Barista/ FOH - Full-time / Part-time

Shifts are usually between the hours of 11:30 am - 8:30 pm, most likely Sun. - Thur.$15- $17/ hr. (total includes base wage plus pooled tips), Paid time off, BenefitsFlying Elephants at Fox Tower (Downtown) is a delicatessen- a cool mix of a retail store and food service. We sell hot food, specialty food items, wine, pastries, and fresh, local, from-scratch sandwiches and salads. We seek a barista/ cashier/ counter service person who loves being friendly, engaging, positive and giving great service above and beyond every day with a smile!We need someone with an outgoing, bubbly personality that always brings a positive attitude and knows how to maintain that positive attitude throughout the day no matter the circumstances.The successful candidate must have the ability to develop relationships and rapport with our customers while still being fast and efficient with interactions.The Front of House person will be working behind the soup counter, re-heating soups and entrees; grilling sandwiches; serving hot food and soup; using a scale; doing dishes; talking to guests about the food, and always giving exemplary service.We are looking for someone who can:Be comfortable speaking to an average of 300 people plus per shift- having polite, yet brief, conversations that leave our guests feeling valued and welcomed backAssist customers with purchases, and produce food and other beverages in a way that meets Elephants standards for consistency and excellence.Be flexible and able to attend to a variety of customer needs--from barista service to register work to panini grill to steam table to soup station, etc.Thrive in a fun environment and has a good sense of humor and a cheerful personality.Develop great relationships with customers. One must also have the ability to remember customers names and special drink or food requests that each customer may enjoy.Maintain a neat, clean appearance required at all times.Cashiering and letting customers know about our THANX rewards programKeeping displays looking nice and fullVarious deep cleaning projects, dishes, and taking out the trashOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Be able to obtain and carry on your person, a current OLCC License and Food Handler s Permit.At least 1 year of food service, barista, register/retail, or Front of House experienceFlexibility with scheduling and willingness to work any set of hours as early as 5:30am as late as 8:30pm.Bonus points:1 year of previous food service or barista experience, specificallyExperience in semi to high volumesGrocery experience is a plusPassionate about cleanliness and doing deep cleaning projectsA passion for food, coffee, and wine
