Key Roles and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include involvement in corporate public/community relations programs. May provide counsel to senior managers or executives in the form of speech research and writing. Interacts with functional peer group managers and senior management. Interactions involve matters between functional areas and other company divisions or units.


Specifically, we are looking for a managing editor for AT&T Communications' internal news site. The editor will help decide which stories we should tell to fulfill our mission to advance company strategy and humanize the brand. Looking for a creative and critical thinker, able to see the big picture and plan ahead. The editor needs to be an experienced leader, a great collaborator and team player, someone who can work with writers/content creators and bring out the best in them. The editor will work with department leaders and the team to help shape stories and determine which internal channels (print, video, podcast, social and more) would be best for each story. The editor will have primary responsibility for editing all print stories and will work closely with the news site designer/publisher to create informative, engaging packages. Other responsibilities include leading daily news meetings and managing the editorial calendar; and copy-editing as needed on a variety of projects. Must be steady under pressure and able to respond quickly to breaking news. Must be able to prioritize and multi-task



7+ years of experience as an assignment editor and a copy editor.

Excellent writing/editing/proofreading skills.

Excellent people skills; ability to work comfortably with employees at all levels.

Deep familiarity with MS Office.

Familiarity with Content Management Systems.

Experience with coding, particularly HTML.

Experience with Photoshop is a plus.

Experience creating videos, podcasts and editorial content for social channels is a plus.

Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field.
