CAD Engineer
Job Description: The Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Engineer position will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the company. Working with Product Development team, you will develop models for new product concepts, design parts, create parts and work closely with designers and engineers.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Develop solid models, engineering drawings and BOM's for new product concepts
  • Create 3D CAD parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and communicate with vendors and overseas engineering staff on design for manufacturability
  • Design parts in a variety of materials and processes including injection molding, blow-molding, rotomodling, stamping and welding
  • Create CAD and direct the creation of prototypes and proof of concept models, using rapid prototyping technologies and traditional model making techniques
  • Collaborate with industrial designers to bridge the gap from concept to product by creating CAD from sketches or translating surfacing Rhino models into SolidWorks
  • Collaborate with engineers to solve problems by creating cost effective and creative mechanical solutions

Required Skills
  • Associates degree required; Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of advanced SolidWorks experience creating complex parts and assemblies
  • Consumer products experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced understanding of molding processes and experience designing plastic parts
  • Must be an effective problem solver and able to clearly communicate designs to team members
