SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a small fleet of cars to FRA, AAR and CIT standards. In addition, the position is responsible for the CIT scrap car processing program, shop material, and other administrative functions. Basic freight car mechanical and shopping knowledge and experience is required. Previous experience with Railinc, UMLER and DDCT is preferred. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary along with the ability to quickly adapt to CIT communication and information systems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Manage CIT's railcar fleet maintenance needs in compliance with Association of American Railroad (AAR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and specifications that match repair market demands and optimize life of railcar costs and support processes that are essential support elements for maintaining
AAR repair data, scrap cars, and fleet data.
* This position is responsible for achieving a portion of the annual budget spending target and maintaining the fleet in accordance with various regulations, consistent revenue.
* Technical aptitude requires this position to understand condition of the railcar fleet through repair data analysis, approving repair estimates, on-site inspections and monitoring
* Lead daily technical support for all CIT Rail railcars along with standard CIT Rail maintenance instructions at all repair shops.
* Prepare and submit all required regulatory documentation for repair of cars to AAR, DOT, and CIT Rail standards.
* Perform audits of various repair shops in the CIT shopping network on quality of work, repair through-put, cost, data quality, and ease of doing business.
* Must have a proficient knowledge of AAR, DOT, and Transport Canada (TC) regulations. Maintain this knowledge by staying abreast of new regulations and maintaining for CIT Rail business operations.
* Represent CIT Rail on technical committees, AAR task forces and at meetings with customers as required.

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
* Two to five years' work experience in a Rail Mechanical or Engineering environment
* Railroad rules, regulations and operating knowledge is a must
* Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well in teams
