HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) Mechanic III Position #116192

Facilities Management at the University of Maryland, College Park, seeks an experienced HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) Mechanic to service, repair and operate a variety of large complex commercial industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including 700 HP high-pressure steam plant. This position is located at the Institute for Bioscience & Biotechnology Research (IBBR) in Rockville, MD. Mechanics at this level are responsible for maintaining all components, subcomponents and aspects of HVAC central plant equipment.

Qualifications:

All applicants must possess a high school diploma or general education diploma and have a minimum of eight years related experience. Level I & II chlorofluorocarbon certification is required. A Second Class Stationary Engineer's license and a Journey HVAC license are strongly desired.. Experience with Siemens Apogee BAS and water chemistry testing is helpful.

Salary/Benefits:

The approved hiring salary range is $53,414 to $64,097 based on qualifications and experience. Regular hours will be day shift Monday-Friday. Positions are Essential and subject to 24-hour/day, 7-day/week span of operation. Incumbent is expected to be on-call periodically in accordance with a rotating duty schedule. Benefits include health, dental, vision and prescription insurance plans, tuition remission for employees and dependents, and participation in the State pension system.
