Position Summary:

The DC Inventory Cycle Count Supervisor will work with the Manager, Regional DC Inventory Control, DC Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance, and outside vendors to research, problem solve, and process DC inventory adjustments, shrink issues, in house damages, and returns to vendors. The position will oversee and direct the cycle counting of the dc. The candidates must provide a strong research skill set and excellent soft skills. Experience in a fast paced, dynamic environment leading teams is required. Ability to work with departments across multiple shifts in multiple buildings as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implements and maintains policy and procedures relating to cycle counts. This includes ensuring the accuracy of warehouse inventory, reviewing in house damages, overseeing DC research and maintaining appropriate inventory reports. Where applicable, coordinates and holds training with various DC departments to resolve all issues that impede merchandise flow through the DCs.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise research coming to the cycle count department to identify root causes, monitor the status of all research on a regular basis by the team to the appropriate level of management.
  • Identify and report systemic and operational issues to prevent situations that could result in variances associated with our reserve inventory
  • Complete the audit of EOM reports for RTV and Trouble
  • Utilize annual survey for opportunities and building positive relationships
  • Complete end of cycle procedure to properly close each cycle
  • Process cycle count variances within 24 hours and ensure all documentations is filed and scanned to cycle count desk.
  • Provide weekly cycle count results on reserve accuracy
  • Ensure completion of Empty bin report is done at end of each cycle
  • Prepare verbal and/or in written presentations for management on steps taken in the research and the team’s evaluation of the issue.
  • Properly identify and eliminate inventory loss causes associates with lost in cycle count cases
  • Oversee the processing of Phantom Inventory files by Consuming or Deleting cases once research has been reviewed and approved by Inventory Management.
  • Engage the appropriate level of management to assist with the escalation of items needing immediate attention. Work with IT, POC, DC, Finance, Receiving Control Office and other work groups for assistance in research and problem solving.
  • Monitor the adjustments of variances associated with reserve inventory and track trends
  • Facilitate and track projects from POC that require Modify/Delete/Consume actions
  • Supervise, develop and train team members, address issues consistently, timely and fairly
  • Provide training as needed to associates in support roles within operation
  • Supervise team to ensure they remain productive and accurate
  • Work with various departments not limited to QA and RSR/pallet Loop to resolve potential discrepancies
  • Audits cycle count procedures to ensure that policies are followed.
  • Responsible for associate development through training on policy & procedures.
  • Ensure all files are saved to the appropriate share drives
  • Work with associate to make sure they are following the SOPs and utilizing all of the correct tools approved to ensure cycle counting methods are followed
  • Create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open.
  • Create a culture of “safety first”, keeping awareness high and addressing all safety concerns
  • Utilize internal procedures to reward and recognize top performers
  • Review daily inventory variance reports and identify negative trends
  • Develops root cause focus programs to identify behavioral, system, or process changes needed.
  • Implement shrink programs with those departments impacting the overall quality of dc inventory
  • Assist with coordinating the Year End Physical Inventory process for regional distribution centers.
  • Partner with Operations to effectively resolve variances and receiving discrepancies while providing feedback regarding the receiving function.
  • Support the implementation of Key Performance Indicators, Internal Controls and Record Retention partnering with cycle counting and remediation of deficiencies related to SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) controls
  • Provide support to identify, reporting and liquidation and/or disposal of overstock, discontinued and damaged product.
  • Responsible for managing employee resources through hiring, training, evaluation, coaching, developing, disciplining and termination.
  • Other duties as requested directed or assigned.


Education and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of inventory control procedures required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook required.
  • Proven problem solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-thorough skills
  • Must understand process of distribution.
  • Must understand customer billing, credit processes and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent math skills, strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Ability to remain flexible to shifting priorities.
  • Working knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management System) and Dematic preferred.
  • Experience with report writing database tools a plus


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Candidates who do not have degrees must demonstrate a high level of expertise and proficiency.


Licenses/Certification/Registration :
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to become certified on DC equipment
    Forklift/turret/scissor lift certification preferred


Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years in warehousing and inventory control required
  • Two years supervisory experience preferred


Physical Requirements:
  • Will spend time on the Distribution Center floor investigating issues and processes.
  • Ability to be mobile for long periods of time.
  • Ability to sit at computer researching for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift cartons up to 50 lbs.
