Responsibilities

The Finance/Analytics group focuses on both short and long term forecasting of business, financial performance and operations metrics which include predictive analytics, longer term strategic planning, capital budgeting, benchmarking and market analysis. Data Science team under this group is responsible for implementing advanced predictive analytics and data mining solutions for various key functions like Sales, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources and Finance. The analytics intern will be using several data sources to interpret, analyze and develop solutions to business questions and present findings with actionable recommendations. This position will report directly to – Vice President, Data Science
  • Mine databases and other data sources for insights and perform analysis
  • Develop insights from the analysis to provide business recommendations by identifying meaningful indicators and trends
  • Use various statistical techniques to provide insights via resident/market profiling, segmentation analysis, and data mining.
  • Build predictive models using machine learning, decision tree and other advanced analytical methodologies/frameworks
  • Query structured/unstructured data and perform exploratory data analysis on customer data and provide actionable insights.
  • Present ideas and findings with actionable recommendations

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a four year university or college required
  • Highly energized personality with a passion for statistical analysis.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into analytical specifications.
  • Ability to make strategic recommendations based on analytical results.
  • Effective team member with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complicated analytics effectively to the wide variety of audiences, including the highest level of management
  • A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or any Quantitative discipline is preferable
  • Experience in R and SQL is preferred
