Certified Medical Assistant - Part-time

The University of Mississippi Medical Center Community Care Clinic in Belzoni, Mississippi is seeking candidates for a part time medical assistant (certified).   The UMMC Community Care Clinic offers services for non-life threatening acute illness and injury and targets the 9,000 residents of Humphreys County and the surrounding area. The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting nurse practitioners, physical assistants, and other primary health care providers in support of clinic operations performing medical office, billing and clinical duties as may be required in the UMMC Community Care Clinic. Position Summary:  The Certified Medical Assistant assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks which include: patient check in, obtaining patient medical histories, taking vital signs, preparing charts, performing basic radiology images and assisting with medical examinations. Performs routine specialized procedures such as venipuncture, catheterization, and sterile dressing changes in accordance with established protocols. Collects and prepares laboratory specimens for analysis.   Job Requirements:   Meet the education/experience requirements for Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical Personnel (AAMP).   Position Type:  Part-Time The Clarion Ledger.
