Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine in North Haven, Connecticut is seeking full and part-time emergency veterinarians Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine (CHVM) is seeking experienced emergency veterinarians to join our Emergency/Critical Care Department as we expand to an additional location on Connecticut's shoreline. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented, motivated individual with a commitment to practicing the highest quality of medicine and surgery, an interest in clinical research and collaborative care, and outstanding communication skills and a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy, fast-paced private practice environment. The veterinarian's responsibilities would include the management of both outpatient emergency cases and hospitalized patients. On-call surgery opportunities are available but not mandatory. This position offers the recruited candidate excellent pay including a retirement match, medical, dental, and vision insurance with optional health savings or a flexible spending account, as well as compensation for licensing and professional memberships/dues. A continuing education stipend and paid vacation are also standard. CHVM is the first facility of its kind to serve the veterinary referral community of Connecticut. Built as an Emergency Center in 1974, we have since opened the doors to our brand new construction 20,000+ sq. ft. state of the art 24-hour facility at a new location in November 2013. The CHVM Emergency/Critical Care Department is supported by departments and specialists in behavior, dermatology, cardiology, internal medicine, interventional radiology, medical oncology, ophthalmology, exotics, radiology, rehabilitation and physical therapy, and endoscopic, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery. Much of the referral community is affluent, and motivated to seek specialty veterinary care. Our caseload continues to grow exponentially since moving into the new facility. CHVM is located in North Haven, Connecticut, minutes from New Haven and Yale University. North Haven is located on the beautiful shoreline of Connecticut with open access to the Long Island Sound, hiking, skiing, and numerous outdoor activities. Several large concert venues are also nearby. New Haven County is home to many excellent school districts, beautiful residential neighborhoods, pastoral countryside property, beachfront amenities, and centuries of rich New England history.
