Responsibilities: Responsible for activities in the Laboratory in order to ensure the provision of effective and efficient Laboratory Services. Operate systems/methodologies in order to produce timely and accurate data for patients, QC and proper testing. Report clinical data accurately and efficiently so that care givers receive timely patient information. Communicate to maintain team knowledge.
Qualifications: Experience: One year of experience actively working in a moderate or high complexity clinical laboratory. Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science or health related field. Completion of a clinical laboratory internship. Or Associates Degree Medical Laboratory Technician with completion of a clinical internship. An HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree .
Additional Qualifications: Special Skills: Required: Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices. Ability to be effective in a diverse work group. Ability to work independently. Ability to exercise independent judgment and render decisions. Prioritization and problem solving skills Critical thinking skills required. Computer skills required. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of relevant factors which can influence testing results Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Demonstrate manual dexterity. Preferred: Working knowledge of laboratory information and reporting systems. Excellent working knowledge of laboratory regulatory standards. Knowledge of CLIA standards Experience with operational and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and assays.
License or Certification: Licensure & Certification: Applicant should possess one of the following appropriate HHS (Health Human Services) approved laboratory certification (ASCP or AMT) Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP)Clinical Laboratory Scientist, CLS (ASCP)Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS (ASCP)Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP)Medical Technologist, MT (AMT)Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (AMT) Or registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete Board of Registry ASCP or AMT examination within first 6 months of employment.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $25.83 per hour.
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Day shift with rotating call, weekends and holidays.
Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends
