Position Title Jr. Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a 1st shift Junior Heavy Equipment Operator in East Peoria, IL. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30pm -- 5:00pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
This position will work outside in a variety of weather conditions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Machine Preparation/Maintenance
+ Check and refill fluid compartments on heavy equipment
+ Coordinate machine fuel fills and drive machines to fuel island
+ Warmup tractors before development starts
+ Turn on/off torque shafts underneath tractors
+ Clean windows on machine if needed before running
+ Run machines and/or trucks through wash process
+ Shovel mud from the tracks of equipment
As Needed:
+ Pick up and deliver development engineers and equipment utilizing a client vehicle
+ Coordinate slope maintenance with field support
In addition, this position is responsible for daily maintenance of equipment, including performing daily inspections, lubricating moving parts, ensuring proper tire inflation, inspecting fire extinguishers, and documenting and creating work orders for major repairs.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
1. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
2. Two years of experience performing general maintenance of buildings, facilities and/or mobile equipment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Prior exposure to operating wheel loaders, skid steers and other heavy equipment.
4. Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Additional Information:
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
+ This position may require a valid Driver's License.
+ This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
+ This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location.
+ This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Physical Requirements:
+ Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
+ Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
+ Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
+ Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
+ Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
+ Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
+ Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
+ Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
+ Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
+ Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements:
+ Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
+ Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience safely operating fork trucks in a shop environment populated with pedestrians and material.
2. Experience operating powered lift vehicles.
3. Experience working under a structured safety program.
4. Experience operating an electronic work order system.
5. Experience operating a PC using Word and Excel.
6. Experience with the Caterpillar Enterprise; Material Handling System, Work Order System, Hazardous Materials System; and crib system.
Other Attributes:
+ Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
