If you feel the same way and want to be part of our team, we are currently interviewing for an Office Assistant. The Office Assistant will report to the Education Director and Operations Director. This is a salaried position with bonus opportunities, 5 PTO days, holidays, flexible work hours, and Goddard University professional development training. General qualifications for an Office Assistant must meet the qualifications of his/her state and those set forth in the National Standards for Hiring (see www.bls.gov), including the following: * previous office experience in a licensed childcare center; * the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school faculty, students and parents; * the ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds, use arms hands, legs and feet, with or without corrective devices, to accomplish the job; * the ability to handle crises situations, especially where children are involved, and be able to respond immediately to any emergency situation; including evacuation of the building during emergencies; * be a sensitive, compassionate and mature individual who relates well to both children and adults; * the ability to change children s diapers and/or assist with toileting; * the ability to interact closely with children at their level; * the ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all times; * the ability to comply with the franchisee s employment policies and should provide leadership and responsibility for the program s continuity. Educational Qualifications All candidates must meet one or more of the following criteria, in addition to any/all requirements that may be mandated by their state and/or local licensing authorities: * A Bachelor s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool. * A Bachelor s degree or higher in a related field, including 18 semester hours of completed coursework, including 12 hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool. * An Associate s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field and 1 year of experience (1560 clock hours) working in a licensed childcare center or preschool and 1 year of management experience. * An Associate s degree or higher in a related field, including 18 hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8, and 2 years (3120 clock hours) of experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool, and 1 year of management experience. * A current CDA or Early Childhood Teaching Credential, and an additional 12 semester hours or continuing education units in courses related to young children birth to age 8, and 2 years (3120 clock hours) of experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool, and 1 year of management experience. Am Office Assistant responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: ADMINISTRATIVE * Maintain accurate record-keeping, both state and GSI requirements (eg, children s files, faculty files) * Review Employee Handbook annually * Maintain a list of local agencies able to help children with special needs * Self-evaluates his/her own work as an Office Assistant. Identifies strengths and areas for improvement. * Promotes GSI s philosophy and school objectives. Is a role model for teachers and other faculty. FISCAL * Arrange for maintenance and repairs with the owner * Purchase classroom equipment and supplies (indoor and outdoor) * Maintain budget and/or purchase school supplies and snack with the Director. LICENSING * Initiate and maintain a positive relationship with licensing agent/agency * Maintain current licensing documentation and compliance with regulations PERSONNEL * Manage faculty schedules * Maintain accurate faculty files * Model proper behavior and language with faculty. Hold faculty to a high degree of behavior. PROGRAM, PROGRAM SUPPORT, and PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT * Keep abreast of research and development in the field of early childhood development * Maintain a resource library at the School * Promote active participation in GSU * Actively participate in professional organizations, conferences and lectures SALES AND MARKETING * Welcome all visitors to the School * Answer phone, schedule tours, respond to parent and lead questions about the school s programs * Follow through with all prospective customers * Enroll new families * Develop and maintain customer relations * Implement an orientation program for new families * Maintain a system of parent communications (eg, Daily Activity Reports, school newsletter) * Conduct meetings with parent(s)/legal guardian(s) when necessary * Develop and maintain community relations * Conduct a minimum of four community outreach programs Job Type: Full-time Required education: * Associate
