Wage: $19-$30+ Work Van/Truck provided by employer (after probation period) Overtime opportunities available Possibility of supervisory positions available Summary An Appliance Technician is responsible for the repair and servicing of domestic and commercial products incustomers' homes and businesses. Products include: Washers & Dryers, Refrigerators, Freezers, Cooking (Stoves, Ranges, and Ovens), Microwaves, Dishwashers, Trash Compactors, Garbage Disposers and other home appliances. The technician provides timely quality repair and installation of customers products while maintaining a high degree of customer service. Additionally, technicians may promote and sell additional products and services that directly impact the profitability of the company. Technicians are elligible for use of a company service vehicle (once technician successfully completes a standar six-month probationary period), specialized tools, uniforms, tablet computer, and periodic training. What We Offer * Competitive pay scale [base pay, plus commissions] * Opportunity for promotion [future positions include: Technician Trainer, Field Manager, and other supervisory roles as the company expands] * Work vehicle, mobile computing device, use of specialized tools/equipment Duties and Responsibilities * Accurately diagnosing and repairing appliances/equipment in the customer s home and/or business * The ability to select and use basic tools or instruments to assemble, adjust, calibrate, repair or test various products * The ability to give the customer an accurate estimate of the cost of repair or installation * The ability to read, understand, and navigate through information presented in schematics, diagrams, blueprints or other pictorial displays * The ability to use an iPad (or similar device) for service call processes, routing functions and parts inquiries/ordering * The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis, and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis without assistance and the physical ability to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances * The ability to provide knowledgeable, courteous, and professional customer service * The knowledge of basic electrical principles * The ability to work variable and flexible hours, including required overtime Education and Experience * Technical School Training * Two (2) years professional work experience as an appliance repair technician or an aptitude to learn the trade * Previous in-home appliance diagnosis and repair experience * Pleasant, polite manner for dealing with co-workers as wells as customers * Ability to work both independently and as a team member * Must be at least 18 years of age Certificates, Licenses and Registrations * Valid Driver s License and insurable Motor Vehicle Record * Refrigeration License, Sealed System Certified * Certified Appliance Professional (CAP) desired but not required * Major Appliance Technician Training and Certification desired Compensation: Very Competitive Based on Experience/Performance. Technicians earn a base pay rate depending on experience level, plus a commission on completed repair jobs. Typical pay ranges from $19 to over $30 per hour.
