We are located in the artistically inclined, Industry City area of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Our company is growing both in terms of brand and reputation for quality. We are well known for our bespoke, luxury lighting fixtures and are looking for high-caliber people to support our plans for next-stage development. At Shakuff, we always aim higher- in our performance, and our culture. *PLEASE READ THE BELOW QUALIFICATIONS BEFORE APPLYING* Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Fabrication and assembly of all components of our unique light fixtures - Assembly and organization of work-space, inventory, packaging & shipping materials, etc; - Daily sampling and inspection of manufactured parts; mark, tag, or note problems - Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials - Communicate with Production Manager on inspection results and quality improvements; notify supervisor when defects are found and help to analyze and correct production problems - Work with basic shop tools on metal components for blemishes and fit issues as certain situations arise - Make soldered electrical connections - Perform all other duties as assigned The ideal candidate will possess the following as minimum qualifications: - Have 2+ years working wiring knowledge in low and line voltage lighting, including Halogen and LED fixtures - A high level of craftsmanship and ability to work with your hands - 1-2 years of shop experience - Comfort and familiarity working in a workshop environment including familiarity with the use of common metal working tools - Familiarity with soldering and making simple electric connections. - Extreme attention to detail and quality - Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and consistently produce quality work. - Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and work with a team towards a common goal. - Highly organized person - Communicates well (written and verbally) - Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. This is full-time temp to perm position. Located in the Sunset Park/ Industry City area of Brooklyn.
