Job Title:

Audio/Video Engineer

Job Description:

This individual will be responding for evaluating, implementing and re-architecture of the firm s global unified / video communications strategy. Blackstone s video infrastructure spans across 30+ corporate sites and data center facilities.

  • Responsible for migrating from legacy architecture to a world class unified / video communications, which includes chat/IM, content sharing, video and voice technologies.
  • Ability to conduct short-and long-term planning to meet current and future collaborative requirements.
  • Responsible for working closely with other members of the voice and video team to deliver, enhance and support the global video environment.
  • Partner with the firm s Facilities Dept. to design collaboration spaces.
  • Identify the effectiveness and efficiencies of existing systems. Develop and implement strategies for improving the efficiency, reliability and performance of these systems and/or replace where necessary.
  • Define standard operating procedures and diagrams for the video ecosystem. Establish system administration standards and procedures as it relates to any new deployment or changes to existing infrastructure.
  • Manage escalations of collaboration/video issues and working in conjunction with the firm s service desk ticket process.
  • Contribute to workflow across change requests, documentation, ticketing, design sessions and meeting participation.
  • Help contribute to the course for the team through annual roadmap planning and fluidly handle reprioritization.
  • Coordinate vendor escalations by acting as a bridge between the vendor s engineering resources and Blackstone.
  • Ensuring a consistent and reliable UC/video collaboration environment, with careful regard to availability, connectivity, performance, and security.
  • Contribute to and drive the development of workflow for collaborative-related processes.
  • Responsible for asset lifecycle management across the firm.

Qualifications:

Core Technical Skills Required:

  • Experience with UC / video technologies such as: Cisco, Acano (CMS), MS LYNC, as well as a variety of end points.
  • Technical background on the integration of conferencing environments with AV components containing AMX, and ClearOne.
  • A deep understanding of current and future uc/video conferencing protocol standards: SIP, H.323 and QOS.
  • A background understanding of network switching and routing as related to a real time communications.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining video solutions on a global and within a very secure environment.
  • Must possess a high degree of accountability, and commitment to meeting firm wide expectations.
  • Must be capable of working independently, while at the same time demonstrating a collaborative and team work style.
  • Responsible for possessing technical awareness in the collaboration technology arena, while having a vendor agnostic approach relating to the technologies.

An ideal candidate should have at least 7-8 years in a video conferencing role, having worked extensively with a range of video infrastructure and heavily involved in design and implementation of global deployments. The candidate must be team oriented, flexible and have the ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment, making the right personality as important as technical skills.
