Thrive is currently looking for entry level and experienced people who are eager to develop within the company. The Plant Health Care Technician is responsible for knowing or learning plant, insect, and disease identification, the life cycle of insects and diseases, and how to administer industry-leading, science-based mitigation, suppression, and nutrient management methods. These tasks require the individual to learn the procedures and best management practices of Thrive, Inc's programs, safely and efficiently operate various pieces of small and large power equipment, and perform their duties with the highest degree of quality and profitability in mind. Education, Training, Experience: * Degree in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, etc preferred. * Have or obtain VA, MD, DC Pesticide and VA, MD Nutrient Management Licenses. * Have or obtain DOT medical card. * Possess a current driver's license, a clean record, and reliable transportation. * Possess strong knowledge of shrub and ornamental diseases and insects. * Possess strong plant identification skills. * Know or quickly learn how to apply basic pesticides, fertilizers, and compost teas. * Safely maneuver hoses and equipment. * Punctually write-up and submit client and time reports. * Professionally interact with high-end clients in the stewarding of their properties. * Be willing to work long hours, including some weekends, as dictated by weather events and work load. * Dependable with a strong work ethic and a positive \"Can Do\" attitude. * Be able and willing to work in the Horticultural and Arboricultural departments, as needed.
