Summary The Parts Shipping and Receiving Associate verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparesitems for shipment. Assures proper control of parts inventory and related administrative functions. Requirements * Report stock discrepancies to manager daily. * Inspect shipments at loading and unloading for damage and quantity daily. Stock all parts in correct bin and/or location and in saleable conditions daily. * Check in all Gm/FedEx/UPS parts in a timely fashion daily. * Package and ship return to vendors in a timely fashion. * Write up core returns, damage claims (659 claim), shortage (PC31), and overage (PC31) claims daily. * Assign new parts to bins that don't have assigned locations daily. * Control all special and emergency orders by tagging and notify appropriate person daily. * Maintain bins, racks, and other equipment and notify management of needed repairs daily. * Maintain accurate UPS/FedEx shipping records daily. * Secure building at close daily. * When checking in GM parts delivery in the morning, the following procedure is to be done dai1y. * Verify that the part number on the parts tag matches the part number on the box. * Verify the quantity of parts received matches the quantity of parts on the packing slip. * Assist parts drivers in loading and unloading parts to and from the parts trucks for deliveries daily. * Responsible for all loading and unloading of items requiring the use of the fork truck. * Stocks and posts incoming orders. * Notifies appropriate parties when special order parts arrive. * Returns parts as needed and removes from inventory after credit is received. * Returns cores in a timely manner and follows up for receipt of credit. * Assists in preparing for and performing annual parts inventory. * Assists in annual parts returns. * Maintain / Catalog warranty return parts as needed and send back to return center. * Keeps parts area clean and uncluttered. * Maintains professional appearance. Maintain a high level of grooming, shaven and uniform appearance daily. Day-To-Day Responsibilities * Count, weigh or measure items on incoming and outgoing shipments, verity information against invoices, orders and other records * Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates * Keep all bins, aisles and storage areas clean and clearly labeled * Maintain receiving and shipping records, delivery truck maintenance records and returned parts records * Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages * Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications * Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies Serves as back-up for parts manager for inventory functions. Matches purchase orders and invoices, approves, and forwards to accounting office. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver's License Hazardous material handling certification would be a plus. Fork lift operator certification helpful but not necessary.
