Your Role:

Tenable is looking for a strong Sales Engineering Manager to support our Central US region. As a Sales Engineering Manager, some of your primary responsibilities will be to drive revenue growth through effective strategic and tactical leadership of sales engineers. To hire, train, and equip the right individuals and teamwork oriented culture to achieve sales goals and customer success. You will work across the Tenable organization to promote and influence sales priorities and you must lead by example and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the entire Tenable portfolio.

Your Opportunity:

  • Being a strong business partner with the Enterprise Sales Leadership team on all aspects of the business, strategic planning, recruiting and nurturing top talent.
  • Running and supporting projects that relate to our tenets of Innovation, Differentiation, Operational Efficiency and making a difference
  • Manage and lead by example with your team, be capable of leading discussions from technical level up to strategic level.
  • Crafting and driving innovative processes, projects, demo platforms, and more that help the Individual Contributors on the team to be Differentiating in the market
  • Support Dashboard Metrics that allow the SE Director and the Partner VP of Sales to understand how the business is running, what changes are having a positive affect or not, how and where to improve the technical sales selling motions on focus areas such as:
    • POV Framework
    • Demo Cloud usage
    • Leadership and Individual Contributor enablement progressions
    • Business analysis that correlates data from a variety of sources and allows us to recognize where weaknesses exist

What you'll need:

  • You have a demonstrable field background with strong cross portfolio expertise
  • You have experience in building, leading and managing strong teams
  • You have excellent project management, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills are essential
  • You must be able to drive tactical projects that support the organization's long term goals
  • You have the ability to drive plans to execution, incorporating cross functional teams and deliverables
  • You must have the ability to produce results within time and resource commitments with a strong focus on results and alignment with Sales and SE productivity requirements
  • You are self-motivated, creative and determined to reach goals and objectives with limited management intervention, this is critical to success
  • You have a thorough understanding of Enterprise sales organizations and a proven track record in field engagements
  • You embody and constantly drive an openly transparent, accountable and teamwork oriented culture
  • 10+ years of work experience

And Ideally .

  • Experience with Vulnerability and Web Application scanning technologies
  • Solid foundational knowledge of TCP/IP and network security concepts
  • Experience with Redhat Enterprise Server at the command-line level
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (e. g., PCI, FISMA, SOX, NERC)
  • Experience with Cloud, and Container Security
