Job Responsibilities
- Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks
- Assisting with toileting, including bedpans, urinals, and commode chairs
- Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment
- Encouraging self-help activities
- Reporting changes in client's condition or family situation to the office
- Performing home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning
- Planning meals, shopping for groceries, preparing and serving food/meals, feeding and clean-up
- Accompanying client to scheduled appointments
- Transporting clients or running errands for clients
Requirements include:
- Must have a minimum of six months of caregiving experience
- Adequate transportation to meet job responsibilities
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Able to bend, stoop, push, pull, sit, and walk for periods of time
- Able to utilize proper body mechanics while lifting up to 75 pounds
- Knowledge of individual service plans, including understanding of client rights, health needs, and program implementation activities
- Related experience working in home care, preferred
- Current CPR certification
