Electrical Controls Field Service Technician

Great opportunity to work for a leading global manufacturer of automated machines, and is represented in several continents by subsidiaries. The clients US plant is located in Jackson, MI, and is currently seeking an Electrical Controls Field Service Technician. * Travel for installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training approximately 50% of time throughout the U.S. * Must be willing to travel to Germany if needed for training at factory * Working knowledge of power transfer technology including mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics * Knowledge of PLCs: preferably Siemens Step7 and Beckhoff controls using Ladder, STL and Function block logic * Familiar with drive systems: preferably Siemens Simodrive 611, 840d Power line and 840d Solution line CNC controls * Basic understanding of Profibus and ASi bus * PLC programming skills a plus * Some mechanical experience with CNC lathes or screw machines helpful * Able to read assembly drawings and interpret wiring schematics/diagrams * Must have strong analytical abilities to identify and resolve problems * Ability to read or speak German a plus * Technical degree a plus BENEFITS * Vacation * Personal Days * Holidays * Health/Dental/Vision plan * LT/ST/Life coverage * 401(k) w/match
