Following detailed work instructions, the Entry Level Assembler will be building electro-mechanical equipment in a repetitive nature in a production work cell with a team of assemblers. The work includes mechanical assembly, wiring, possibly some soldering, labeling, and packing. The assembler uses basic hand and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. He or she will be required to identify defective materials or assemblies. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. This position will report directly to a supervisor or team leader. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Learn basic mechanical assembly Sorting and counting incoming piece parts Maintain shop cleanliness Understand safety in the work place as it applies to yourself, others, and property Lifting is generally at or below 25 pounds without significant repetitions. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Mechanically inclined Proficient in the use of basic hand tools Must be willing to work overtime Able to work on your feet up to 8 hours per day Ability to communicate in English High School Diploma or equivalent DESIRED SKILLS: Having related experience and knowledge with industrial or production assembly related practices and procedures is a PLUS. Standard hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. This position often requires overtime depending on workload (overtime is paid at a rate of time-and-a-half).
