SUMMARY Assists Painters in preparing panels by utilizing corrosion protection applications, primers, flex additives and or proper sealers on both metal and plastic collision and or replacement parts provided in accordance with manufacturer s, dealership and collision Industry quality specifications and time standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Essential Duties include the following but are not limited to, other duties may be assigned. Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely. Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated. Removes paint imperfections, buffs & polishes finish to a smooth & uniform surface. Mixes paint according to paint manufacturer s specifications. Primes & prepares repaired surfaces using correct spray equipment and materials as required. Inspects repaired panels and ensures they are ready to be prepped and ready for the painters. Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair. Keeps work area, paint booths, paint mixing area clean and in a ready to use state. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management. Cooperates and assists other body shop personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
