Coordinator, Physical Plant Florida Atlantic University's department of Physical Plant is seeking a Coordinator, Physical Plant, at the Boca Raton Campus. The Coordinator, Physical Plant will coordinate and monitor the maintenance needs of multiple campuses with the other Physical Facilities staff. Make assessment and recommend any efficiency in process. Schedule, supervise and work with subordinates and outside contractors. Maintain shop and work sites in a clean and orderly manner. Perform emergency and call-back work to abate facilities maintenance problems including storm damage, and grounds repair and operation. Assist with job planning of in-house work by estimating quantities of materials and supplies required, preparation of material lists to include pricing, and in formulating design of work operations. Oversee and schedule preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment. Schedule and/or conduct safety meetings for all member of Physical Facilities. Document safety infractions, suggest corrective action and formulate time table with supervisor. Comply with safety rules. Report all hazards or infractions to the Director. Attend scheduled safety meetings. Utilize equipment and vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with manufacture's recommendations. Coordinate and supervise Custodial and Grounds Maintenance for Physical Facilities across all campuses. This includes daily oversight and monitoring of activity to ensure quality and response time. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Civil or Structural Engineering and at least five years' experience in construction management and maintenance.

Additional facilities training and supervision is desirable. CAD experience is a plus.

Must have the ability to multitask and move quickly in a changing environment, as well as the ability to learn and use FAMIS work order system or similar platform.

Must also have knowledge of administrative principles and practices, as well as safety practices.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to do the following: utilize problem-solving techniques, assist users in locating and using materials, work in the field in various types of weather, deal and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, supervise people, lift heavy equipment, and read and interpret technical and operational manuals, guidelines and diagrams.

Skill in the use of hand tools and mechanical equipment is a must.
