Caregiver for Greater Los Angeles (Los Angeles) - Full-time / Part-time

Licensed non-medical Home Care Agency in need of reliable caregivers for the Greater Los Angeles and surrounding areas. A survey will be sent to you after you have applied. Applicants must have the following: Must be registered with Department of Social Services (or do so upon hiring), provide Live Scan (form LIC 9163 - IHSS Live Scans are NOT transferable) and sign a criminal record statement (form LIC 508) upon hire. * Register w/ Department of Social Services will cost $25 * Live Scan fingerprinting depending on location: $69-89 (authorized locations will be provided) California Driver's license with access to a safe, reliable vehicle. Proof of Auto Insurance and current auto registration. Forms of ID (driver's license & social security and/or work visa) OR U.S. passport. 2 professional references in healthcare field or volunteer work and 1 personal reference. Good written and oral communications skills (must speak CLEAR English) and submit email reports requiring some knowledge of computers. Prefer applicants who LIVE in the area or are willing to make the drive from a NEAR-BY location. Shifts can run from 3 to 9 hours and the positions cannot tolerate too many personal days off or family emergencies. Have an open and flexible work schedule. Able to work with eccentric and difficult older adults and the disabled. Must be caring, compassionate and genuine. CNAs, Home Health Aides, CPR and First Aid preferred (however we will provide you with basic training). Must provide certificate of negative TB test result. Job duties include: * Assist clients in their homes, nursing homes, hospitals, and assisted living facilities. * Access to training opportunities to ensure you have the tools you need to do your job. * Assist with meals, light housekeeping, driving for shopping and appointments, companionship, along with patient advocacy at doctor appointments. * In some cases, provide personal care duties (bathing, grooming, toileting, transferring with some lifting involved).
