Prep CookFisher s Cheese & Wine is a new cheese shop and cafe at the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur, CA. Our sister location is The Cheese School of San Francisco, and the leadership core of Fisher s came from The Cheese School. We re a woman-owned business and the management team is led by three women of color who collaborate with the owner to execute a shared vision.In a nutshell we re a cheese-obsessed, hard-working, fun-loving, and passionate group. It s how we build relationships, connect with our base and each other.We re seeking a full-time prep cook to support the kitchen manager in our small but mighty kitchen. The candidate for this position should thrive in wearing many hats. Be able to slice, dice, work a panini press, and have great time management skills to fulfill orders. During the downtime, you ll prep recipes for the next shift, and take pride in having one of the cleanest kitchens this side of the bay!We are a small, but passionate kitchen that is looking for someone who wants to help us grow within these tiny walls; someone with ideas and creativity. We are a family of eaters and are looking for people who like to feed and be fed.Key Roles:Prep menu itemsAssist back of house team with preparation and organization in the kitchenMaintain prep area cleanliness at all timesKitchen training and food preparationEnsure high quality and efficient execution of menu itemsMaintain strong understanding of food safety from unpacking, handling, storage, and transportationTake direction and follow recipesHelp maintain and enhance aesthetic presentation of packaged food & food servedSet up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for serviceQualifications:Proper knife skills and food handling experienceHands-on experience in garnishing, arranging, and serving foodDemonstrated ability to check freshness of food and ingredients prior to cookingKnowledge of food safety and handling proceduresWell-versed in cleaning work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverwareAble to work in a team environmentSelf-motivated and organizedAbility to meet physical demands of the position including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, bending, walking, standing for extended periods of timeThe success patterns for this position are:Can effectively handle multiple tasks and high stress situationsMust be able to work at a fast paceReliable transportation to and from work with varying start and end timesSelf-motivated, especially under pressureAble to accept constructive criticism and improve from itCan work independently and as a member of a teamCommunicate effectively and efficientlyWorks with attention to detailHow to apply:Email a resume outlining your experience to jobs (at) fisherscheese (dot) com.
