Appliance Repair Technician - Full-time / Part-time

Appliance Service and Repair Technician: Mr. Appliance of Barrington is looking for qualified technicians who are looking for a significant growth opportunity with a proven company, offering a very strong compensation package. $40 - $60K plus a signing bonus The ideal candidate must be a team player, self-starter and role model for future Mr. Appliance service professionals. Summary The technician is responsible for the repair and installation of products in the customer s homes and businesses. Products repaired and installed include the following appliances: Washers & Dryers, Refrigerators, Freezers, Cook Stoves, Microwave Ovens, Dishwashers, Trash Compactors, Garbage Disposers and other home appliances. The technician provides timely, quality repair and installation of customers products while maintaining high customer service. Additionally, technicians promote and sell additional products and services that directly impact the profitability of the company. We provide a service van, specialized tools, uniforms, iPad, and periodic training. Compensation Package: * Top dollar for experience * Signing bonus * Annual bonus and trip incentives * Medical/health care programs * Person Days/PTO - 17 days * Company Holidays - 7 days * New iPad * New tool bag * Uniforms * 2016 company van Duties and Responsibilities: * Accurately diagnosing and repairing appliances/equipment in the customer s home and business * The ability to select and use basic tools or instruments to assemble, adjust, calibrate, repair or test various products * The ability to give the customer an accurate estimate of the cost of repair or installation * The ability to read, understand and navigate through information presented in schematics, diagrams, blueprints or other pictorial displays on an iPad * The ability to use an iPad for service call processes, routing functions and parts/inquiries/ordering * The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis, and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis without assistance and the physical ability to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances * The ability to provide knowledgeable, courteous and professional customer service * The knowledge of basic electrical principles * The ability to work variable and flexible hours, including required overtime Education and Experience: * Technical School Training * Two (2) years professional work experience as an appliance repair technician * Previous in-home appliance diagnosis and repair experience * Pleasant, polite manner for dealing with co-workers as wells as customers * Ability to work both independently and as a team member * Must be at least 18 years of age Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: * Valid Driver s License and insurable Motor Vehicle Record * EPA/CFC Type 1 certification is desired * Certified Appliance Professional (CAP) desired Requirements: * Must be at least 18 years of age * Pass background check * Pass drug testing * Valid Driver s License and insurable Motor Vehicle Record
