Automotive Technician - Mercedes-Benz (Salt Lake City) - Full-time / Part-time

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Technician will assist in the delivery of an extraordinary client experience. * Must have a clean Driving Record and valid Driver s license. * Drive safely and efficiently, observing all traffic laws. * Regular attendance and punctuality and is consistent with all Schomp Policies * Repair vehicles within flat-rate time guidelines, or times as assigned by management. * Inform management of difficulties with repairs and the need for additional repairs. * Attend training designated by the management or manufacturer and attend all shop meetings. * Familiarity with current with technical developments and product changes. * Handle customer vehicles with care, keep them clean and take precautions to protect all customer vehicles while at the dealership. * Perform a quality control check on work performed before turning in the repair order. * Indicate clearly, the repairs performed on the repair order. Coordinate with service and parts team as appropriate. * Train and supervise apprentices assigned by the Service Manager. * The ability to lift large and heavy items with a minimum of 40 lbs as needed (or with reasonable accommodation). * The ability to work with arms and hands above head for extended periods of time * Able to drive manual transmission vehicles * The ability work in extreme weather conditions both summer and winter * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Able to use dealer DMS system, technical software and manufacturers diagnostic equipment as required * Ability to maneuver inside, outside, and under a vehicle as required for diagnosis and repair * Must maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times * Must be able to stand for extended periods of time * Ability to communicate, work and get along with others, including customers, employees, and other departments * Must maintain a professional appearance, personal hygiene * Must understand and perform supply inventory as directed by management * Must wear and utilize appropriate safety equipment. Education & Experience: * Prior experience as an automotive technician or thorough technical training (if an apprentice). Mechanical skills must be sufficient to diagnose and repair given sufficient product training. * The ability to work independently with limited supervision and the motivation to continually increase technical skills should be evident. * The self-concept of a professional should be coupled with concern for quality service and customer satisfaction. * A complete and up-to-date set of tools is required. * Productivity: Achieve an average productivity rate of at least ninety-two to ninety-four percent (92%-94%). * Efficiency: Maintain a minimum efficiency rate of one hundred ten to one hundred fifteen percent (110%-115%).
