Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Landscape Construction - Full-time / Part-time

The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic position covers areas of Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties. Individual is required to operate and maintain a field service truck and perform service on John Deere Mini Excavators, Track Loaders and Gators. BobCat Track Loaders, Toro Dingo's, Multiquip Rammers, Whiteman PowerBuggy's, and other brands of equipment. Requires ability to work independently in performing repairs and maintenance, including strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics. Individual should have strong diagnostic and repair skills. Perform equipment inspections and repairs in the field. Diagnose, troubleshot and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic breakdowns on heavy equipment and trailers. Conducting heavy equipment inspection, functionality, use and safety tests. Drive a service truck to various locations and make repairs Work independently with no supervision Educational/Experience Requirements: Qualified candidates must have 3+ years of successful hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, diagnostics, and be very experienced with the latest electronically controlled machines. Must be able to fully comprehend hydraulic and electrical schematics with a history of successful troubleshooting and technical experience. Capable of welding, grinding and torching metal. Must maintain daily service reports and equipment status reports Must be able to communicate professionally and in a service-oriented manner, both written and verbally, to: customers, vendors, manufacturers, etc. for technical questions and support. Maintenance and repairs of field equipment will be performed at the yard of the corporate office as well as on the locations of projects across Southern California. Valid driver's license, 3 years current clean DMV and background check are required for this position. Must be able to operate a laptop computer for service reports and time reporting. Basic tool set required for position; Company will provide some specialty tools/equipment. Must have ability to complete written service reports and report time worked. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook for email required.
