We are currently looking for an experienced estimator to add to our team. We are a small, family owned business that has been in operation for over 30 years. After ayear of employment, the right candidate will be eligible for 40 hours vacation as well as enrollment into our 401K program. The right candidate will meet the following criteria: Estimator responsibilities will include preparing estimates based on material, manufacturing centers, sub-contractors, and skilled labor cost for each project and sub-project operation. The primary scope of work includes the interpretation and review of engineering diagrams (blue prints) for mathematical and technical accuracy, issuing and obtaining RFQ s for material and sub-contractors, accurate input of costing information, and the organization and retention of RFQ s and project information. The estimator will also prepare detailed task and subtask estimates, including unit cost determination and perform mathematical calculations by applying standard factors. The estimator will also assign material and staffing costs, document historical cost data and manufacturing methods and procedures to maintain current estimating standards and database. Experience skill set: Know / familiar with basic order of operations for the manufacturing of machined parts: manual, CNC mill & lathe. Ability to: - read blue prints - clear & accurate communication with vendors and customers - identify and vet potential new vendors - type & use 10 key - organize complex projects - adjust to changing dynamics of industry - document and track work Successful candidate would possess the following skills: - detail oriented - vestal - self-starter / minimal supervision - quick learner , desire to research information applicable to job - ability to work in fast passed environment and stressful situations -experience working with MRP / CMR systems -experience and knowledge of MS works, email, and internet Other attributes -familiar with ISO 9000 -familiar with fabrication techniques , material finishing, mechanically minded, and a little weird.
