About this job

Supports and maintains physical and logicalconverged voice and data networks, fault isolation, monitoring status of voiceand data circuits, VoIP and analog phones systems and peripheral equipment,cabling/wiring, LAN/WAN, and network equipment. Works independently,coordinating with internal technical and non-technical staff or externalvendor, to install physical voice and data wiring in network/server equipment.Replaces and repairs telecom equipment, works closely with other engineers onnetworking, new projects, and user support. Ensures problems are satisfactorilyresolved in a timely manner and providing the highest level of support for allcustomers.

  1. Supports and provides proactivemaintenance of physical and logical converged voice and data networks whichinclude, phone systems and networking devices.

  2. Provides daily administration andsupport of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity, Voice Mail, VoiceGateways, PBX Phone Systems, and other communication systems.

  3. Provides support and administration ofCisco and Juniper based LAN/WAN/WLAN network infrastructure including switches,firewalls, wireless endpoints and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

  4. Configures telephone systems, performshardware testing, troubleshooting and repair, system administration andbackups.

  5. Installs, configures, supports andmaintains the telephone systems, network wired and wireless devices, PCs,printers, servers, and other computer peripherals utilized by NorwegianAmerican Hospital.

  6. Promotes proactive system standards,procedures, and protocols, including configurations and system security.

  7. Performs routine backups and archivalof systems according to current policy and procedures, and assists with dataand system disaster recovery procedures as necessary.

  8. Utilizes task tracking and qualitychange control management processes and tools.

  9. Collaborates closely with network andinfrastructure engineers in proactive maintenance of existing systems andparticipates in the planning and evaluation of future system needs in supportof ongoing business requirements.

  10. Provides technical direction andtraining to others.

  11. Adheres to facility and regulatorycabling/wiring compliance standards related to installing and maintaining thewiring/cabling infrastructure of the network.


Three or more years of experience required

Associate s degree or equivalent

Certification Preferred (A+, MCP, MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, CCNA Voice, CCDA, CCNP Voice Certificationor equivalent)
