We are currently searching for Bar Waiters based onboard our ship on theseas of Hawaii.

POSITIONSUMMARY

Responsible forbeverage service and sales in the workstation that is assigned to him/her inthe public bar or lounge.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

  • Responsible forpromoting and maximizing beverage sales in the assigned workplace, whilefollowing & ensuring that all company beverage service standards are beingadhered to.

  • Follows companyguidelines regarding uniform, personal grooming & hygiene.

  • Ensures that companypolicy in regards to drinking age is followed, & practices responsibleservice of alcoholic beverages.

  • Helps maintain the bar& pantry areas at all times in accordance with USPH / FDA and SEMS rulesand regulations, including following guidelines relating to the correctuse & maintenance of all bar equipment.

  • Ensures the assignedworkstation is properly set & prepared to meet the daily business demands.

  • Provides prompt, attentive,consistent & courteous service to every guest in the assigned workstation,& through this helps to achieve the yearly goal for the bar scores in theguest comment cards.

  • Strives to alwaysup-sell to better quality premium & super-premium products, & is ableto recommend & suggest beverages when guests ask for assistance inselecting them.

  • Effectivelycommunicates any problem, challenges, complaints or service difficulties in atimely manner to the Bartender on duty or immediate supervisor.

  • Maintains anattentive & proactive approach offering consecutive rounds of drinks,asserting satisfaction with the product served.

  • Responsible for thecorrect registering & proper handling of all individual checks & salestransactions generated in the assigned workstation.

  • Performs other dutiesassigned by the Bartender / Supervisor on duty.

  • Must be familiar withthe Safety and Environmental Protection policy and SEMS; carry out the policiesand procedures appropriate for his/her position.

  • Perform other dutiesas assigned.


IMPORTANTREQUIREMENT FOR ALL APPLICANTS

  • Have a positive hospitality attitude and a smiling face
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and qualify for a U.S. CoastGuard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC). In order to qualify for an MMCyou must:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
  • Pass Physical Exam/Drug Screen
  • Have a Clear Background
