The Trades Maintenance & Infrastructure Repair division of the Park and Recreation Department provides maintenance services for a citywide inventory of parks totaling 274. Approx. 185 of those sites have plumbing infrastructure of which we are responsible for maintaining; infrastructure related to baseball fields, soccer fields. Drinking fountains, pools, splash pad and irrigation systems. This position will also play a key role in the set up and maintenance of plumbing infrastructure for the City's annual Mayfest event held in Trinity Park and will also be responsible for performing double-check or backflow valve inspections in parks and for other City facilities, i.e. police and fire stations and libraries.

The City of Fort Worth is hiring a Master Plumber for the Park and Recreation Department for Planning and Resource Management, Trades Maintenance & Infrastructure Repair Division.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Individual's responsibility will be to lead craft personnel and perform skilled work related to one or more of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, electronics, painting, mechanical and concrete; conducts complex technical and skilled tasks related to assigned projects; provides technical guidance to lower level skilled and maintenance workers; assists in training lower level staff on proper techniques and procedures within assigned trades area; monitors and coordinates work of lower level staff. The position will assists supervisory staff with scheduling planning projects and maintenance activities; recommends appropriate resources to use for projects and activities and identifies resource needs; maintains equipment and supplies used for trades work and performs preventative maintenance on tools, supplies and equipment.

Additional duties to include: knowledge of current city plumbing code and requirements; reviews drawings, diagrams, specifications and work orders; creates and updates drawings, diagrams and specifications; maintains repair and maintenance logs for equipment and facilities; records work orders when projects and maintenance activities are completed; contacts vendors to assess availability of supplies, parts and equipment; works with contractor to complete projects and assignments and identifies work to be completed for contractors; identifies construction, maintenance and repair needs for facilities and equipment assigned and performs identified work as appropriate.

The position will adhere to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in assigned trade and four years of related skilled trades experience, including one year of lead supervisory experience

Valid Texas Driver's License.

Appropriate certifications related to the field, current Texas Master Plumber's license and Back-flow license.
