Drama Kids is not a performance or production company. Instead, we focus more on what's TRULY important, developing KIDS! Our program gives students an opportunity to express themselves, exercise their creativity, practice higher-level thinking skills, gain leadership characteristics, strengthen public speaking skills, enhance literacy skills, & of course, explore the basic acting tools. For us, it's about the process and getting kids to take risks, feel successful, and gain confidence in a fun and professional atmosphere. Bottom line, we build CONFIDENCE; not shows. We are looking for part-time caring, fun and motivated teachers or teachers at heart that are passionate about developing children to join our growing team. Our team believes in what we do and know we can affect positive change every day. Our energy and enthusiasm encourages kids to become the best communicators they can be! Our goal is to develop kids who are able to strive and thrive as the 21st century unfolds As a member of our great team you will: Work 3-7 one hour class per week (directly after school dismissal) Teach and mentor students from 4 to 17 years of age Follow provided world renowned lesson plans on speech, movement & acting Direct plays Build relationships with parents and students Deliver presentations Foster relationships with local schools Have potential to do additional administrative and marketing work/projects for our location We are looking for people that: Have a heart for kids! Are looking for a very part-time, but very fun opportunity Have teaching and classroom management skills Are performance oriented With HIGH ENERGY and flexibility Have afternoons available Are willing and able to commit for the remainder of this school year (longer would be great too:) *Theater experience (a plus, but not required) Most importantly, candidates that have a burning passion for children, education, and the arts
