An automotive dealership in the Greensboro area is looking for a Body Shop Manager to join our team. SUMMARY Develops business through insurance adjusters, customers, and other sources to assure an adequate sales volume. Provides a reasonable department operating profit, and maintains customersatisfaction standards while controlling expenses. Directs the activities of body shop employees in performing body repairs, including meeting time schedules and productivity levels, and maintaining quality standards. SCHEDULE * 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday thru Friday * 1 Saturday per month * Additional days and time as business requires, including offsite and out of state training. * Vacations, Training, and personal time off should not be scheduled either the first or last week of any month. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them. * Hires, trains, motivates, and monitors the performance of all body shop employees. * Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the body shop. * Directs and schedules the work of all body shop employees. * Establishes and maintains good working relationships with insurance adjusters. * Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business. * Implements aggressive marketing plan to increase body shop business. * Gives fair estimates on costs and time required for body work. * Follows up on parts department orders to ensure parts availability. * Monitors progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring that proper repair and safety procedures are followed. * Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality. * Checks quality of completed work. * Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines. * Monitors paper flow to ensure that all documents are accounted for, filled out completely and legibly, and filed or distributed to the appropriate parties. * Prepares final billing for completed repair orders. * Controls accounts receivables for body repair work. * Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Provides necessary training. * Ensures that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly. * Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as needed. * Monitors the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and other large fixed assets to ensure long-term usage and value. * Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases. * Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean. * Attends managers meetings. * Maintains professional appearance. DAILY/WEEKLY DUTIES * Monitor all staff members work schedules and conduct weekly audits of their time clock records. * Maintain a zero overtime policy for hourly employees unless pre authorized by Fixed Operations Director or General Manager. * Monitor that all unassigned tasks in CCC one are assigned by noon daily. * Monitor that appointments are made Monday thru Saturday and that Estimators and CSR s do not dictate or prohibit the appointment volume. * Ensure phone etiquette is followed by employees to include a scripted greeting and that no blind transfers occur. * Monitor that RO s are closed in Profit Net and verify that amounts and gross profit percentages match in Reynolds and Reynolds. * Track and post shop hours as well as Technician production vs goal. * Monitor fair dispatch practices are being followed. * Insurance company key performance metrics * Update of month to date tracker before the end of business daily * Present a copy of monthly Policy charges in the Monday Manager's meeting MONTHLY/QUARTERLY DUTIES * Review production goals for technicians every 6 weeks. * Council Technicians that miss their goals more than 2 times in 6 weeks. * Schedule training to ensure minimum Technician Certification is achieved. * Monitor Technician career path * Interact with local technical schools to encourage prospective graduates to apprentice * Increase shop capacity based on appointments * Perform Expectation of Performance with all office staff to include a discussion about the employee's future career path * Perform expense comparison vs TCCC guide * Monitor Technician pay scale vs certification QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
