Supply Chain and Logistics Planning Food

Supplier of premium baked goods, meals and snacks to the airline and rail industries. Partners with co-manufacturers in customizing products and packaging to the individual customer requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the forecast and the packing schedule to ensure supply chain and inventory levels are sufficient to pack, ship and fulfil orders. Manage data for the inventory reporting system: excesses and shortages, slow moving, obsolete items, end of life items, waste. Point of contact for 3rd party packing and logistics vendors. Negotiate freight rates. Coordinate directly with 3PL for pickups from suppliers, manage inbound and outbound distribution to customers. Work with vendors to solve immediate operational issues and improve service levels. Manage, process, coordinate all customer orders and change orders. Resolve with customers any delivery issues, non or short deliveries, delivery timing problems and supplier issues. Collaborate with Technical Team on labelling and importing International products. 25% travel domestic and international to include travel to Chicago twice a month. QUALIFICATIONS: 4+ years experience working in Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, Inventory, Logistics, Shipping and Receiving. Multi-tasking, analytical, planning, communication, critical thinking, attention to detail and follow through. Proficiency in an ERP system (Navision) or similar, the complete Microsoft office suite; Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Office.
