POSITION SUMMARY Provide support to production/manufacturing by performing a complete design for manufacturing for all quoted projects and implement the process through acceptance of the first piece. This person will create and specify the manufacturing package required to transform the project from the print/model stage to the finished good that meets specification and quoted rate at that specific machining operation. * Programming positions include: * CNC Swiss ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Provide technical and project assistance to estimating for quotation purposes in regards to primary/secondary machining operations * Develop the machining process/processes and evaluate manufacturability for all primary/secondary machining operations * Utilize CAD/CAM to generate manufacturing files and all supporting requirements for the machining operations * Design, create drawings and order fixturing * Design, create drawings and order custom tooling * Specify all stock tooling * Create manufacturing layout and work instructions * Post code to the DNC as specified by manufacturing * Responsible for program control from \"cradle to grave\", revision control, and archiving * Work with post processers to ensure posts are in proper order to generate CNC code * Either independently or alongside a designated setup machinist, set up the machine tool operation and troubleshoot as necessary until a capable process yields an acceptable first piece that meets print/customer specification * Ensure the process yields an acceptable first piece that meets the quoted setup and rate. If not, either independently or alongside a designated setup machinist, troubleshoot as necessary until a capable process yields an acceptable first piece that meets the existing quote. Include Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Estimating as necessary. * Responsible for engaging and leading lean activities within programming and other projects that involve the production floor * Independently identify, research and develop solutions to machining related issues and new technologies * Work with production personnel, manufacturing engineers, and machinists to improve processes, tooling, and fixturing for new and repeat projects * Involvement and support in regards to the selection of capital equipment * Support internal and external design changes through the Change Order (CO) process * Support CAPA investigations related to customer complaints * Enters production information into the ERP system on a timely basis * Accurately records and reports hours worked * Maintains an organized work area (5S) to include workstations, equipment, walkways, and locker rooms * Participates in the Operational Excellence Program * Understands and complies with the Cretex professional competencies, company policies, and employee manual * Adheres to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required * Supports and complies with the companys Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements * Completes all other work duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (INCL. KSAS AND CERTIFICATIONS) * 5+ years of programming, set-up and/or operation of CNC machines * Proficient with a 3D CAD system (PTC Creo, SolidWorks or other 3D CAD system) * Proficient with PartMaker, Esprit or other CAM systems (PTC Creo Manufacturing, GibbsCAM, MasterCAM or other CAM system) * Knowledgeable with fixture and tool design * Advanced blueprint reading capabilities with knowledge of GD&T * Proficient with the selection of processes and tooling for a broad range of metals and plastics * Proven understand of material removal processes with the specified processes * Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Ability to communicate effectively across a broad audience * Proficient in basic math and trigonometry * Ability to use a computer and calculator. Able to read and write in English. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment * Excellent problem solving skills * High school diploma or equivalent degree (GED) required. * Able to interact with various types of individuals: operators, machinist, technical support and management. * Ability to read, comprehend, follow and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents * Mechanical Aptitude * Dexterity and hand and eye coordination * Attention to detail * Strong problem solving skills * Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks * Ability to take direction from the area manager * Ability to collaborate and assist team members, provide input to the area lead, and attend and participate in meetings * Ability to cross train in other areas of production when required * Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
